Understanding Orthopaedics As A Field Of Medicine

Orthopaedics is a specialist field of medicine that specifically addresses issues associated with the musculoskeletal system. This branch of medicine involves the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. These comprise of diverse conditions such as fractures, sprains, arthritis, osteoporosis, scoliosis, musculoskeletal trauma, and many more.

This domain of medicine involves both surgical and non-surgical means to restore the functionality and mobility of patients. Discoveries and advances in the field of orthopaedics have led to global improvements in surgical procedures and patient outcomes. Today, orthopaedic surgeons utilize state-of-the-art technologies and innovative techniques to ensure optimal results.

Dr. Richard Zoumalan Site is an excellent reference for those interested in contemporary techniques in orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Zoumalan, who is a top-rated orthopaedic surgeon in the US, specializes in the treatment of disorders related to the face and neck. On his site, one can find numerous examples and case studies that explain modern orthopaedic procedures and their outcomes.

Orthopaedics branches

Orthopaedics is a vast field, with several sub-specialties this include sports medicine, pediatrics, trauma, spine, shoulder and elbows, hand, foot and ankle, joint replacement, and orthopaedic oncology. These subspecialties highlight the complexity and vastness of orthopaedics.

For example, an orthopaedic surgeon practicing sports medicine would manage athletes’ injuries and aid in their recovery for peak performance. On the contrary, an orthopaedic oncologist would focus on treating patients with benign and malignant tumors in their bones and soft tissues.

The need for Orthopaedics

Given the increasing global ageing population, musculoskeletal conditions have shown an unprecedented rise, marking the need for orthopaedics in healthcare. Osteoarthritis, a common degenerative joint disease, is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. Through orthopaedic interventions, patients could regain control of their daily routine and activities.

Not only in terms of mere functionality, but orthopaedics also contributes towards enhancing the quality of life. It may mean being able to play with grandchildren for an elderly, run a marathon for an athlete or simply regain the lost confidence for a patient recovering from facial trauma. Each case is unique and important, embracing life-altering changes.

The scope of orthopaedics extends beyond the basic concept of ‘bone doctors’. It deals with an intricate network of joints, ligaments, muscles, and nerves that allow us to perform daily activities. It holds the key to improved mobility and pain-free living for people suffering from musculoskeletal disorders.

Thanks to renowned professionals like Dr. Richard Zoumalan and many others, the field is continually evolving to accommodate better patient care. Their research, development, and the dedication towards patient care is invaluable in the world of medicine.

When it comes down to it, it is easy to understand why so many Bosley clients are thrilled with the results. Since the hairs used in the transplant procedure are ones that come from your head, you can count on them to be a perfect match in terms of thickness, color and texture. Furthermore, the donor follicles are gathered from the back of your head, where the hairs are usually genetically-programmed to be long-lasting. These follicles maintain their genetic programming even after being moved to a new location, which means you enjoy long-lasting results. Even better, you do not need to do anything special to maintain your new look. Simply wash, style and enjoy having a fuller head of hair!

Plastic Surgery For Asian Features}

Plastic Surgery for Asian Features

Abigail AaronsonIf you look at the media, it may seem that plastic surgery homogenizes aesthetics, stripping away the features that make us unique. But the purpose of cosmetic surgery isn’t to erase heritage, ethnic identity, or uniqueness, but rather to enhance individual beauty. Today many cosmetic surgeons specialize in addressing different ethnicities needs, including those of Asian heritage.

One of the most commonly requested cosmetic surgery among all patients of various ethnic backgrounds is rhinoplasty. Asian patients are among the few who request a more prominent nasal bridge. Along with creating a stronger bridge, the tip of the nose is sometimes rotated upwards slightly and in some cases will be made more prominent as well.

The plastic surgeon will choose an appropriate implant in order to achieve the desired appearance. The implant will be used in conjunction with cartilage, which is harvested from another area of the body, to create a higher bridge that is balanced in angle and height to the tip. Both men and women can have highly successful outcomes if they maintain realistic expectations, choose a skilled specialist, and are an ideal candidate for the surgery.

Possible risks associated with rhinoplasty and placement of implants include, hemorrhaging, infection, breathing difficulties, dissatisfaction with results and extended bruising or swelling. The initial recovery period varies from two to three weeks, but it can take over a year before the swelling completely fades and the full results are visible.

Another commonly requested procedure popular among Asian patients is eyelid surgery, also called blepharoplasty. Many people of Asian descent lack an eyelid crease or “double eyelid”. This crease, which appears between the upper lash line and eyebrow, can make the eyes appear bigger and more dramatic. Many women find that the crease enables easier application of makeup and appears to make the face look brighter.

During the procedure, a plastic surgeon will make an incision above the eye, manipulating the muscles and tissues to create the crease, and then stitching it into place. In most instances patients may choose the height and shape of the crease line, ranging from a high arch to a more subtle curve.

The recovery period is one to two weeks with visible bruising and tenderness. Initial results should be visible within four months, but full formation can take up to a year. There are few major health risks, but aesthetic problems such as eyelid drooping, unevenly matched creases, visible scarring, and triple creases can occur in some cases.

Choosing cosmetic surgery will not change your heritage or individuality, but rather enhance the beauty you already possess. Many people of Asian descent have found that specialized plastic surgeons can help them achieve their aesthetic goals without compromising their uniqueness.

A number of plastic surgeons are familiar with particular procedures and patients. They are sensitive to individual desires and expectations as well as cultural differences. Realistic goals and an understanding of the various procedures can help you make an informed, thoughtful decision. If you still have concerns, consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.

For a person of Asian descent, maintaining your individuality is as essential as finding a competent

Reverse Hair Loss}

Submitted by: Ervin C. Osvart

The real reason for Male Pattern Baldness has nothing to do with hormones or Dihydortestosterone but is simply due to lack of blood circulation to the papilla. The “experts” in the hair replacement industry would have you believe that hair-loss, specifically Male Pattern Baldness is caused by Dihydrotesterone (DHT) which causes the follicle to shrink and that nothing can be done about it. Well I can say unequivocally that this premise is a a fallacy and has been proven as such time and time again.Why do I say that? Because Ive done it. Not only have I grown back my own hair, after being diagnosed with Male Pattern Baldness, Ive taught others how to grow their hair back as well. Furthermore, I grew back my hair without any drugs, products, surgery or gimmicks whatsoever. Thats right. Nothing other than a simple, powerful method that I learned almost thirty five years ago.

However, it wasnt only the method I learned that enabled me to completely reverse my hair loss while still in my early twenties. I firmly believe that the real reason I was able to reverse my balding and re-grow my hair was because of the understanding and knowledge that I gained of exactly why I was losing my hair, and why it could and would grow back. I never stopped believing that it would happen, which is why I never gave up searching for answers. Somehow, I knew the answer was out there, contrary to what the so-called experts would have me believe, and I was absolutely determined to find it. And find it, I did. I spent thousands of dollars, while still in my early twenties finally, in an act of utter desperation was fitted with a toupee, which I wore for almost two years. It was during this time I learned the real reason I was going bald and learned how to reverse the balding process and begin growing new hair.

The reason men go bald, at least those that are suffering from Androgenetic Alopecia, more commonly known as Male Pattern Baldness has nothing to do with hormones or follicles shrinking. It has everything to do with insufficient bloodflow to the papilla. Live hair cells are generated inside the follicle by the papilla. Without adequate blood-flow into papilla, there can be no new hair growth. Sufficient blood-flow is necessary to create the cells required to form the new hair shaft. Taking nutrients from the dermal papilla, the hair bulb generates new hair cells. As these cells move up through the hair root, they mature through a process called keratinization. As blood-flow to the papilla decreases, existing hair becomes dry, brittle and fall out. Since there is an insufficient supply of blood, the papilla can no longer create the cells required to form the new hair shaft.

In my ebook Grow New Hair! I chronicle my journey and battle with Male Pattern Baldness over thirty years ago, while still in my early twenties, and how I learned the secret to new hair growth, without drugs, surgery procedures or gimmicks of any kind. I have shared this information with hundreds of people around the world and have published my story.
